Originally a small fishing village on the fringe of Torremolinos, with a few dwellings but today still retains some of that charm, despite its popularity with the holiday makers.
Discover the beaches for yourself… all different behind the wind breaks, some offer drinks service from the chringuitos, some have balanese sunbeds, some have music and coctails, once you´ve been once, you can book to return every day to the same beds if you wish. Really friendly folk.
If you want to try your hand at kite surfing, you will have to walk along the beach and into Torremolinos. For Jet skis and watersports in general there are 2 sections of beach, one near the marina in Benalmadena, a 15 min walk and the other round the headland into Torremolinos. They are well signposted from the walkway. Definately the ideal place for a dip and to soak up the sun, the Carihuela and surrounding can offer an extensive range of beach activities for the more restless and for those who want to stay in form we can arrange access to a gymnasium & Tennis courts in the buildings around Palm Beach.
Great area for cycling, bikes can be hired through reception. During summer months there is a fabulous aquapark open daily which should keep you entertained all day.
There is also 10 pin bowling in montemar, 10 minute walk, and a cine with films in English on the outskirts of Torremolinos.
Beautiful safe sandy beach, decorated along its length with oasis of palm trees and grassy shade, chiringuitos, the typical beach bars which invite you in for a sangria or cold beer.
Restaurants abound to tempt you but especially the fried fish that the area is so famous for..rosada..calamari..shrimp and sardines on the bbq.
Shops, boutiques & hippie stalls, souvenir & leather shops to suit everyone. wander through the pedestrian streets gazing and grazing…take your time and find yourself getting drawn into the vibe of a town thats alive with local tradesmen, residents & children, mixing happily with holiday makers.
People watching is a lazy pasttime here, sit at a table in the street and while the time away.
The town of Torremolinos, full of an assortment of bars, shops and restaurants of all types of dish. It is the gastronomic centre with a wealth of great dining experiences within walking distance of the beach.
There is a public bus leaving palm beach every half hour which will take you up into town. Runs hourly during siesta (2-5pm) & on Sundays.
There is a lift which can be used to take you up from the walkway into the heart of the shopping streets but everyone should try, if at all possible, to either walk up the steps into town or definately walk back down after.
the beaches of Torremolinos are just 15 minute walk around the headland and offer more dynamic beach experiences like..kite surf…paddle..jet ski.. banana rides. etc
And when youve exhausted the beach and coastal towns and villages..escape the noise and head inland to discover a completely different lifestyle.. visit the white villages, Benalmadena pueblo, Mijas & Frigiana, meet the friendly people, the colourfull flower laden walls and the culinary flavours of the mountain dishes.
